Reigate Grammar School, in partnership with the Royal Meteorological Society, is delighted to be holding a conference on Climate Change for Geography A Level students. It is to be held in the afternoon on March 9 2017 in Reigate, Surrey. We are at junction 8 of the M25 so easy to reach for schools in the South East.
As well as hearing from a panel of climate change scientists, it is an ideal chance for Geography A Level students to bring their knowledge of human disturbance of the carbon cycle up-to-date.
The carbon cycle is a central part of new A Level Geography specifications and the conference will focus on human disturbance of carbon stores and transfers. The conference will not just consider causes and impacts of this disturbance but delegates and students will also be invited to consider solutions. With the help of climate scientists, students will leave the conference with a heightened understanding of key issues related to the carbon cycle and a raised awareness of the critical challenge of climate change that faces their generation.
School Geography departments can register their interest now. Numbers are limited and it is expected that this conference will attract a lot of interest, particularly from schools in and around Surrey and the South East region, so please register early following details below.
